How to Serve Bottled Cocktails Like a Pro

Bottled cocktails do the hard work for you. A few small touches turn a great drink into a memorable one.

Chill first

Put the bottle in the fridge a few hours before serving. A cold cocktail tastes smoother and more balanced, and you will need less ice — so the drink stays strong and full-flavoured.

Choose the right glass

A short, heavy rocks glass suits rich, spirit-forward drinks like The Godfather and Vintage Velvet. A taller glass works well for City Vibes over plenty of ice. Love in Lagos looks beautiful in a coupe or a rocks glass.

Use good ice

Large ice cubes melt slowly and keep the cocktail from tasting watery. If you are hosting, buy more ice than you think you need.

Simple garnishes that impress

A twist of orange peel, a slice of citrus or a sprig of mint adds aroma and makes the drink look bar-made. Keep it simple — the cocktail is already balanced.

After opening

Close the bottle tightly and keep it in the fridge. For best taste, finish an opened bottle within a few days. Unopened bottles keep for 12 months — see our shelf life guide for full storage tips.
